Migration – A Short Movie By Mira Nair On AIDS Awareness

by | Nov 13, 2018 | HIV, Living With HIV, Safe Sex, Uncategorized, Video | 0 comments

Migration, a short film directed by Mira Nair is a compelling story between migrant workers in a big city of Mumbai and how their encounters with multiple partners of both sexes lead to the infection of HIV. Set in a lower-middle-class setting of India, the film talks about love, desire, sexual needs, risky sex, marriage, pregnancy, and AIDS.

It features Sameera Reddy, Irrfan Khan, Shiney Ahuja and Raima Sen. Irrfan Khan is married to a wife and has an additional relationship with a man. Shiney Ahuja is a migrant worker. The complex story of how they meet and how it transpires into something that they weren’t aware of blends well with the message of the film.

Watch the film produced for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
